Here’s one I made earlier…

Ok, forgive me the shots of the kitchen floor but when I did these I didn’t have my dressmaking dummy.  The first piece of clothing was made from my Nana’s cardigan and jumper that I was given after she passed away.  My Nana was a woman of style, she always had her hair and make – up done, had an amazing collection of shoes (in the same size as my sisters and I) and was very fashionable.  A few items of my Nana’s wardobe will find their way onto this blog – it’s my way of keeping her close.

Firstly took the sides of the cardigan in, then I cut the arms off the jumper and added them to the cardi.  This bit was hand sown as I hadn’t got my sewing machine out of the attic.

I then thought it needed a little something else and as I didn’t have my sewing machine I used the tried and trusted short cut of hemming tape and made a hood.  I have since sewn it on properly just to give it extra durability.
Luckily for me my sisters are not shy in front of a camera, so I got my youngest sister to model it for me….
This is my first try at upcycling my old clothes, the sewing isn’t great but I love it and my sister almost stole it so it must be okay!
